Do you wish your smile were a little whiter and brighter? Have you tried whitening your teeth with bleach trays, laser whitening, white strips and more but had minimal to no success with those methods? Are you looking for a more permanent solution? You may want to consider veneers or a product called Lumineers.

Veneers

Veneers are micro-thin strips of porcelain that cover the teeth, making them appear whiter and brighter. Veneers can even change the shape and size of the teeth, seamlessly blending away minor imperfections on the teeth all at once. You may have heard of veneers before but thought they were too expensive or just for the rich and famous. But the great news is that anyone can get veneers – and they’re more affordable and more effective than you may have realized!

Veneers are attached to the teeth using a special cement. Before they are placed, the dentist must remove some of your tooth enamel and roughen up the surface of your teeth in order to optimize adhesion.

But are veneers the only option for improving the look of your smile? Not quite! Another option that’s gaining popularity is a product called Lumineers, and there are some important differences between the two options.

Lumineers Vs. Veneers

The first question many patients ask us is, “What’s the difference between veneers and Lumineers?”

Well, for starters, Lumineers are a lot thinner than traditional veneers – and that’s a good thing. That’s because the thinner the veneer, the more natural looking and feeling they will be on the teeth. It also means that when you get Lumineers, none of your natural tooth enamel will need to be removed to adhere your Lumineers to your teeth. And if you decide to remove your Lumineers, it can be done easily and without any damage to the tooth. Furthermore, because the installation process is less invasive, you won’t need anesthesia during your Lumineer installation.

Another great benefit to Lumineers is that they last longer than traditional veneers – about 20 years – whereas traditional veneers only last about 10 years before needing to be replaced. So even though you are paying slightly more for Lumineers, you’ll get much more for your money.

Lumineers look as natural as your natural teeth, but better, and can be installed right in Dr. Mazhari’s office.
