Mojgan Mazhari, DDS
Dr. Mazhari has been in love with dentistry for over 25 years. Whether she’s chatting with a patient, perfecting a treatment, or simply introducing the latest dental tech, her passion is absolutely contagious.
What she loves most is the privilege of caring for people in a way that becomes more meaningful year after year. Her greatest joy? Helping you feel confident, radiant, and truly at home with your smile.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
When Dr. Mazhari was in college, she was still exploring what path felt right for her. She always knew she wanted to help people in the world of healthcare, but it wasn’t until she discovered dentistry that everything made sense. She realized this field wasn’t one-dimensional at all—it was creative, scientific, personal, and even entrepreneurial. It offered endless possibilities, and she instantly felt at home.
Even today, her role continues to evolve. Some days she’s fully immersed in patient care, diagnosing, treating, and planning smiles. Other days she’s leading the practice—guiding the team, building systems, and nurturing growth behind the scenes.
This mix of science, artistry, community, and leadership is exactly what keeps her passion alive. Dentistry isn’t just her career; it’s a space where she continues to learn, grow, and make a meaningful difference every single day.
It’s that blend of purpose, creativity, and daily variety that keeps her inspired.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Once Dr. Mazhari fully immersed herself in dentistry, she pursued advanced education in multiple areas to broaden her skills and better serve her patients. Over the years, she has completed numerous specialized courses in cosmetic dentistry, ranging from thin veneers and porcelain restorations to Lumineers, allowing her to transform smiles into more polished, naturally bright versions of themselves without compromising the underlying tooth structure. This commitment to precision and aesthetics has been a cornerstone of her 25+ years in practice.
Dr. Mazhari is among the top 1% of dentists who have achieved Fellowship status with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. This requires a series of hands-on courses over a long period of time, ending in an extensive written exam of about 150 questions.
Her continuing education has also included postgraduate training in TMJ pain management and sleep apnea appliance therapy to help patients breathe better and sleep more comfortably. Orthodontics, specifically Invisalign, has been an integral part of her practice since 2006.
Dr. Mazhari brings years of refined expertise to dental implant care, with advanced training and hands-on experience dating back to 2009. She is also extensively trained in state-of-the-art CEREC technology, allowing beautifully crafted restorations to be designed and completed entirely in-house. Patients value the ease, comfort, and elegance of receiving custom crowns, partial crowns, onlays, or inlays in a single, seamless visit.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Mazhari was born in Iran, and she and her family left after the revolution, eventually settling in the United States in the early 1980s. She still carries a deep love for Iranian culture—the food, the poetry, and the dance remain close to her heart. One of her greatest hopes is to one day see women in Iran practicing dentistry in the country’s beautiful cities, just as she’s had the privilege to do here in Alexandria.
When she manages to pull herself away from dentistry, Dr. Mazhari loves spending time outdoors and could hike in nature endlessly. On weekends, she often goes for several miles, sometimes not realizing how far she’s been until she feels the soreness afterward. She also enjoys biking, riding scooters, swimming, and dancing. Music, audiobooks, and podcasts are part of her everyday life, and she’s a movie lover who makes it a tradition to watch at least one good film on the weekend, especially on Sunday nights.
Photography is another passion—she loves capturing the beauty of nature and the energy of city life through her lens. And while she doesn’t consider herself to be an exceptional cook, she takes pride in preparing simple, wholesome dishes (even if they can be a little boring at times!).
