What Happens During a Root Canal?
Root canal treatment typically requires two different appointments. The first visit will be the procedure that will help ease your pain by removing the infected pulp from the inner chamber of your tooth. To do this, Dr. Mazhari will create a window in the top of your tooth. She’ll then sanitize the chamber to make sure no bacteria remain and restore its structure with an antibacterial substance called gutta-percha.
At your second appointment, Dr. Mazhari will remove the temporary crown she placed during the first visit and secure your permanent restoration over the top of your tooth. This will provide your treated tooth with an additional layer of protection to prevent an infection from redeveloping.
