Lumineers are known as a “minimal prep” dental veneer: they offer more durability and flexibility than tooth bonding, but do not require as much tooth preparation or last as long as porcelain veneers. For many patients, they are the best choice to address their cosmetic goals within an affordable price range.

Lumineers: What To Expect

Dr. Mazhari is an experienced cosmetic dentist who has helped many patients achieve the smile they have always wanted with Lumineers. She will meet with you to thoroughly evaluate your dental health and discuss your goals before recommending this type of dental veneer to be sure you are a good candidate and will enjoy the best possible result.

After your consultation, Dr. Mazhari will create a personal treatment plan for your new smile. Typically, patients need to make only two visits to our Alexandria dentist office to complete the pain-free process.

Dental impressions will be taken at the first visit to be used in the creation of your custom veneers in the Lumineers lab. Made from ultra-thin, high quality ceramic, your veneers will be ready in a couple of weeks. Once complete, Dr. Mazhari will remove a very small amount of tooth surface through an etching process, which enables the veneers to adhere securely to your teeth. She will permanently attach them and make any necessary adjustments for a comfortable fit that does not interfere with your normal bite.

Your new smile will last for years with good oral hygiene and routine dental care in our Northern Virginia dentist office, where we can monitor for any signs of wear or damage.
