CEREC Primescan Intraoral Scanner

The CEREC Primescan Intraoral Scanner paired with Prime Mill streamlines the process of obtaining accurate digital impressions, which eliminates the need for messy traditional molds and significantly reduces chair time. With the high precision and speed this tech offers, we can offer same-day milling of crowns, partial crowns, bridges, implant crowns, and veneers. The Primescan captures the digital scan of the treatment area, such as for a partial crown or onlay, and then the Prime Mill uses a block of a particular material to mill out the approved design. Traditionally, dental crowns were used for most major restorations; however; with the advent of CEREC technology, we are able to simply restore the decayed or damaged tooth portions and keep the healthy parts and structure of the tooth.

Itero Element 5D Plus

Our iTero^® Element 5D scanner swiftly scans the entire dentition and analyzes the bite in just 7-9 minutes, offering comprehensive assessment. It provides before-and-after visualizations of dentition and facial changes, tracks progress of the bite over time, and accurately detects issues like cavities, fracture lines, and thinning of the teeth. With precise digital imaging, it enhances treatment outcomes for Invisalign aligners and dental implants, while fostering clear communication through real-time 3D images. The iTero also can simulate for the patient what the outcome of their ortho case will be and what steps will provide the best oral health and longevity.

Dexis Digital X-rays

With Dexis Digital X-rays, we provide a full set of detailed tooth and root x-rays on the computer in 10 minutes or less, facilitating quick diagnosis and patient education. These digital x-rays offer minimal radiation exposure, prioritizing patient safety. By digitizing our x-rays, we have enhanced efficiency and readability, eliminating chemical processing and enabling us to enhance on-screen images for more accurate diagnostics. This technology allows us to deliver precise information faster than ever before, ensuring optimal care for our patients.

Intraoral Digital Imaging

Our Intraoral Digital Imaging utilizes a small camera, slightly larger than a pen, to navigate the oral cavity and capture individual photos of the teeth, facilitating detailed discussions of findings and prognosis with patients. Similar to digital x-rays, these intraoral cameras offer enhanced visualization of teeth and gums, with the ability to enhance captured images. Additionally, the technology allows us to project the images onto a computer screen in real-time, enabling patients to see precisely what we’re observing. This interactive approach enhances patient understanding and engagement, ensuring comprehensive dental care.

Photography

Photography plays a pivotal role at our office in case documentation and patient education. Utilizing the advanced capabilities of the iPhone 15, we can seamlessly capture high-quality images of patients’ smiles and dental conditions. These images can then be quickly transferred to an iPad for easy comparison and analysis of cosmetic cases. With the ability to enlarge specific areas of concern and utilize tools like the Apple Pencil, we can quickly navigate the changes to the teeth, gums, and smile to educate patients about the considered outcome.

Loops from Surgitel

Surgitel Loops provide us with the ability to enlarge the teeth and surrounding area by 8-10 times. These magnification devices help us accurately identify and address issues that may have otherwise gone unnoticed, ensuring thorough diagnosis and treatment.

Root Canal Assistance

Utilizing advanced technology, we can precisely locate and measure the length of roots during root canal therapy, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes. By digitally measuring the root length, we can perform root canal procedures with greater precision, effectively eliminating infection and preserving the tooth’s integrity.

Minimally Invasive Techniques

At Alexandria Dental Health & Smile Studio, we emphasize using minimally invasive techniques, prioritizing the preservation of healthy tooth structure, all while maximizing longevity and optimal oral health in treatments like Lumineers, porcelain veneers, and bonding. By employing very thin restorative options, we ensure minimal removal of natural enamel, promoting the long-term integrity of the teeth. TENs Unit

We utilize a TENS unit to relax facial muscles and alleviate pain associated with conditions like TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction. By stimulating muscles and nerves in the face, TENS therapy promotes relaxation and reduces discomfort, providing non-invasive relief for our patients. This approach effectively addresses muscle tension and restores proper function to the TMJ, enhancing overall comfort and well-being.

K7 Machine

The K7 machine enables diagnosis of jaw positioning. By displaying enlarged jaw tracking on a computer screen, it enables us to observe the movement of the lower jaw (mandible) in relation to the upper jaw (maxilla). This comparison between baseline measurements (prior to treatment) and a healthier state of movement and comfort is essential for addressing TMJ-related issues effectively. When combined with TMJ splint therapy( TMJ orthotic), it aids in planning orthodontic treatments for malocclusion-related joint pain. Additionally, integrating modalities like chiropractic care, physical therapy, yoga, and maintaining good posture complements TMJ splint therapy, improving forward head posture and overall TMJ health. This comprehensive approach enhances patient outcomes by effectively addressing jaw misalignment and associated discomfort.
